Robin leads IoT (Internet of Things) sensor innovation and commercialization programs at Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB). He is involved in product and service development, commercial strategy development, and customer engagement. Robin started his career at HSB 16 years ago. He has held various positions with increasing responsibilities in the areas of risk modeling, corporate underwriting, enterprise risk management, and technology & insurance innovation.
Robin will be delivering an engaging presentation around IoT and its potential to transform the insurance industry. He will outline how loss control professionals can best leverage IoT technologies and what real time sensor data can mean to a loss control professional, while also providing a variety of case studies and success stories.

Woody Hill - Vice President and Customer Experience Officer, Texas Mutual Insurance Company
Woody Hill is the Vice President and Customer Experience Officer with Texas Mutual Insurance Company, the state’s leading provider of workers’ compensation insurance. In this role, Woody serves as a customer advocate, partnering with leaders across all business units to transform the customer experience and ensure that customers are at the center of every business decision. Prior to his current position, he led the Safety Services division of Texas Mutual Insurance Company since 2013. Prior to that, he served as vice president of loss control for EIG Insurance Services, a publicly traded P&C insurer in California specializing in workers’ compensation. He previously was assistant vice president, loss control for ABD Insurance and Financial Services. Hill first became passionate about workplace safety while serving as an associate industrial hygienist for the California Division of Occupation Safety and Healthy (Cal/OSHA), a position he held for more than 11 years. Hill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and environmental science from Eastern Kentucky University. Woody will be leveraging his extensive experience to deliver a presentation regarding innovation and the customer experience.
Soft Skills & Salesmanship in Loss Control
Waleed Wadi - Director of Risk Management, Kum & Go
For the last 13 years Waleed dedicated his career to leading innovative and positive change within the commercial insurance industry as a loss control professional. He has a passion for developing leadership competencies and managing all types of risk. In July of 2017 he joined the Kum & Go team to help lead their global Enterprise Risk Management initiative. This includes building and managing captive relationships, managing the total cost of risk for a loss sensitive program, and leading the ERM evolution of the business. He holds several industry designations, a Business Administration degree from Hawaii Pacific University and an Executive MBA from the University of Iowa. Waleed also spent 13 years in service to our country as a military intelligence professional. Waleed will be discussing salesmanship and the importance of soft skills in order to be effective in the loss control profession.
Smart Technology for a Safe and Productive Workplace
Chad Howell - Vice President, Product Management, Cellcontrol
As Vice President of Product Management at Cellcontrol, Chad Howell drives the overall product strategy and engineering roadmap for both existing and new markets, advancing the Cellcontrol software platform to further reduce risk and increase productivity throughout the workplace and across industries. Prior to Cellcontrol, Chad spent 16 years as a technologist and entrepreneur developing new and innovative technology-based products across the industrial and medical industries with a focus on advanced safety and wellness applications in the workplace. Chad served in progressively senior leadership roles at a number of companies including Ochsner Health System, Paradigm Safety, and NextPhaseMD. Chad will be discussing the complexity of managing employee distraction by mobile devices, and how when managed appropriately, these same devices can become a great tool to improve safety and increase productivity.
The RCT team will be delivering four feature spotlight presentations. These presentations highlight best practices and use cases for existing features within the RCT platform in order to assist our customers in maximizing the value they receive from the system.
Rapid Requirement Sessions
The RCT team will deliver three rapid requirement sessions. During these sessions we will introduce a new feature in the product roadmap and solicit feedback from our clients on how they envision leveraging these concepts for their businesses.
